Questioning Angel

I altered this canvas by first applying a coat of gesso and then painting it with a diluted wash of blue acrylic paint. Once I had the colour laid down to my satisfaction, I dried it off and added layers of White Opaque Flakes (Liquitex). I coated the flaked area with clear gesso, and then applied layers of orange and red acrylic paint until I was happy with the result.

The piece of tissue paper was stuck down and sealed with gel medium and framed with gold embossing powder.

The gate was die-cut and misted with Color Bloom shades of gold and bronze (Prima). The drips were created with the gold embossing powder heated which I heated until it ran.

My little angel was gessoed, coated in coarse texture paste (Dala) and then sprayed with layers of Color Bloom foiled gold and tea stain (Prima).

The "salvaged" wordband was coated with clear gesso and then painted with gold acrylic paint. I applied some stickles into the word itself with my finger to ensure it went exactly where I wanted it to. The brads were hammered for some texture, coated in clear gesso and then also painted with the gold paint.

The heart is made up of 2 die-cut hearts from frosted paper. I used some strips of tissue paper which I painted with a wash of red acrylic paint. I coiled them around a skewer whilst they were still wet and dried them like that so they keep their coils. I ran the hearts through a embossing folder for some texture and then stapled them together (the staples were coloured with the embossing powder too, as well as the eyelet). The red coils were then tucked in randomly with pieces hanging out.

Thanks for looking and happy crafting.
